200g Pea Microgreens
Pea Microgreens Fight Disease and Promote Good Health
nPeas are a common vegetable, grown and consumed in almost every corner of the globe. While you are probably familiar with peas and the countless recipes they’re used in, you’ve probably never tried green pea microgreens in a salad or healthy blended smoothie.
n
nThe sprouts of peas are like other microgreens in the way that they are nutritionally dense and come with several notable health benefits. As a matter of fact, they contain up to 40x more nutrients! Pea microgreens can help to promote overall health, ward off disease, and helps boost your immune system.

Starting out
nThe first thing is to plant less seed. Just how much is the question. The general rule is this: The more space your plant must grow roots - the bigger it can grow.
n
nWe are currently using 1/2 – 1 Tablespoons of seeds per tray. This leaves quite a bit of room between the seeds-plants but gives them enough space to grow to this stage. Depending on the seeds it can take 2 weeks or more.
n
nWe cover the seeds only until they have sprouted when growing with our mats about an inch or so tall.
n
nThe main thing is do not keep them covered for too long. Plants get "leggy" when they need to reach for light. When you remove the cover keep it in direct sunlight, that will help. Keep everything adequately moist. Remember - the more heat and light the faster and plants will dry. So keep a good check on the mat so its not drying out.

Fertilizing Microgreens
nWhen growing on a soilless mat- it is advisable to use Liquid seaweed fertilisers to give your plants additional nutrients to draw upon. When we use liquid seaweed we dilute 1 tsp. in 1 quart of water (this is a higher concentration than the product label calls for). We use it in a spray bottle provided or by watering the mat directly We use it every time we water.

Ollie Greene has been gardening for over 15+ years and is very passionate about Health and Nutrition. Growing your own vegetable is key to getting great nutrition. Using the right fertilisers is really important.
We source all our seaweed from Irish suppliers and make sure they are a 100% Natural product. We have been using seaweed products in our garden for years and found that there were a lot of products on the market that did not really do what they would claim to do, that they had a lot of chemicals in them and some were so watered down that the goodness was gone out of the seaweed.
