This was my first completed painting for 2020.
It is of a beach near Lackeen Point in Kenmare, Co Kerry, and is from a beautifully captured photo from a truly talented local nature photographer named Sharon Leahy.
I was mesmerized with the sun shining on the sea and glowing through the sea kelp left on the pebbles as the water receded. I tried to capture that beauty in my painting.

This beautiful print is just finished. The painting was just dry enough to get the prints done. The original painting is Oil on Canvas and the size of the digital print is 28x33cm.

I had digital prints made of The Red Coat painting, its an Oil on Canvas painting. The little girl was leaving her granny’s house and I loved the concentration she has to close the door. The print is 23x28cm.

This is a digital print of my Robin painting , I painted the Robin because she visited me all last year in the studio, as it was lock down she was nearly the only visitor I had! It is 20cm sq.

This is a digital print, it is 44cm squared. I painted this from sketches I made in Cork, a family walking down the old railway line. I loved the the slow calm pace of the family, Mum was very careful to match her stride to the children and I felt the whole picture was one of Love.

This is a digital print the original oil painting I made of the baby visitor to my studio. She followed her mum to the door one day and then popped in when ever I was working. So I painted her!

This is a digital print of a painting I did of the back hall in the house I grew up in. The house is very old and the hall has flagstones which made a lovely sound when someone walked on them. It was also where the scuttles and ashes bucket were kept for the Aga. The print is 39x75cm.

Derrynane 297mm x 210mm – Framed Print Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Paper This painting was a wonderful journey, shared all the way with my fellow artist, the amazingly talented photographer, Sharon Leahy. It was from her photographs that capture the spirit and rugged beauty of the old Abbey Ruins in Derrynane, Co Kerry that I have tried to recreate in painting form. This wall with the three window arches is nearly 1000 years old and was supposedly built by the same order of monks from Skellig Micheal. There is a burial ground on the site that is still used and as per tradition, I believe the coffins are carried across the beach as it can only be accessed at certain times with the tides. Here the remains of “the great liberator” Daniel O Connells wife, Mary O Connell are buried. I had never heard of this place before and am always amazed at the unsurpassing history and beauty in that we are blessed to have in this land.

This is a digital print of one of my most favorite paintings, My Cow! The print is beautiful, you can see the texture of the canvas on the print, I couldn’t be more happy with how this turned out.
The print is 24x54cm and has a white border all around it.

This is a print of my painting of the goat. The original painting was an Oil on Canvas painting and this is a digital print of that painting. These are wonderful quality prints, the colour is exact to the painting and it’s printed onto good cartridge paper. It is 27x34cm.

Keel – Achill Island Cottage

This was a commission of an old cottage house in Keel in Achill Island. The house has so much character and is such a beautiful place in real life with the backdrop of the Minuan Cliffs in the distance.
There was a huge amount of little details that went into this one which I was able to do because of the larger size. Things like the individual slates on the roof, the sash windows with net curtains, and old cracks and nicks out of the old walls. All of this helps me to try my goal to have the painting look equally as good from a distance as up close.
