Our hens come to us from battery farms for a second chance at life. Typically, hens can live for up to 10 years, but hens used for commercial laying will have a much shorter life. When they come to us, they often have no feathers and are nervous and scared of being outdoors.
However, they settle in quickly, their feathers grow back, and they turn into quite affectionate little creatures. At Beara, they are free to roam the land, and they have plentiful food and warm barns to roost in.
They can grow to be quite cheeky, and we regularly find them hanging out in unexpected places. Their favourite places being the kitchen and laundry room!
Your sponsorship of The Chook Gang for 1 year will contribute to their food and veterinary costs and you will receive a personalized sponsorship certificate and photo of some of the gang.Beara Farm Animal Sanctuary is a not-for-profit forever home for unwanted/neglected farm animals.

Shipping Policy: We ship with An Post standard post and use A4 board backed enverlopes ot avoid damage or bending. Postal delays may oocur which are outside of our control so we cannot guarantee delivery dates. Cost of shipping is €2.95 to Ireland & Europe, €4 to the UK, and €6 to the US.
Items that are returned within 14 days from the day of purchase in their original condition, with all tags and labels intact, will be refunded in full less the original shipping cost. Please let us know if you have any issues with your purchse, we are always happy to help.
Welcome! We are Jacquie & Alan from Beara Farm Animal Sanctuary in West Cork, Ireland.
Our sanctuary is home to unwanted/neglected farm animals who come here to live out their days in peace and comfort. We're providing sponsorship packages that you can gift to friends and loved ones, knowing that you are giving the gift of love.
As a non-profit, we're rely on donations to pay the food & vet bills for the many animals in our trust. We also have volunteers who help us with work on the land and care of the animals. We also have ongoing costs for maintenance of fences and shelters.
The goal of this store is to highlight soem of the amazing souls who live with us and to raise much needed funds.
