Bespoke oil portrait painted from photograph. A beautiful way to capture a loved one or a special memory for ever more.
So how does it work?
Commissioned oil portraits are painted from customer’s photographs, so it’s important we start with the best one possible. If you have a favourite photo in mind, we can start from there. If not, I can work with the customer to help select the photograph that will give the best results ( I also like to have additional photographs, where possible, to get a better overall feel for the subject, which I believe improves the painting).
Next, you select the size of portrait you’d like.
Then, I’ll work with the photo to determine the best composition for the painting.
When that’s agreed, work can start, and I’ll send progress shots of how the painting is progressing.
When the painting is finished, a photograph of the finished piece is sent to the customer, to ensure that they are happy with the final portrait.
Once the customer is happy with the finished painting, it will be given a coat of varnish for protection, prior to shipping.

I asked Jacqueline to paint a portrait of a beloved family member as a present to my husband. I knew from looking at her work that she would do a good job but the finished piece blew me away and exceeded all of my expectations and more. The care and attention to detail she put into the portrait was phenomenal. Not only was it a perfect likeness, Jacqueline managed to capture her personality as well and it shone through in the painting. When showing it to people, many thought that the portrait was a photograph, it was so well done. I am so grateful to Jacqueline for this portrait and I will absolutely be getting more portraits done in the future.

Hi, I’m a self-taught oil painter living in beautiful Tipperary. I love trying to capture the essence of a person, pet or place, and the wonderful light and colour of the Irish landscape. I have recently started doing portraits and it’s so lovely because as you’re working, you can start to feel the love that someone has for the subject that is being painting, a surprise bonus for the artist!
