Vanilla Planifolia is similar to Madagascan Variety has a rich fruity flavour and aroma.
All of our Gourmet Vanilla Beans are sourced from the Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea which is renown for producing some of the worlds best vanilla.
Its all organically grown by small holder farmers who get above Fairtrade price for their vanilla.
Gourmet Planifolia Vanilla beans are perfect in appearance, shiny straight beans, no split, no scar and very appealing to the eye.
Normally reddish brown or dark brown to black in colour with a high vanillin content perfect for baking.
All of our vanilla beans are traditionally cured to develop the full, complex vanilla flavour made up of over 200 organic compounds which artificial vanilla cannot properly replicate.
The entire process takes anywhere from 6 to 9 months after pollination.
Once the beans are cured and ready we then grade them to ensure only the highest quality vanilla beans.
Our beans can be used in a variety of recipes , from Creme Brulee to home made ice cream or cookies these high quality vanilla bean will impress your guests.
