Raw Botanicals Pain Be Gone Balm 30gms
Capsicum oil and comfrey are two natural remedies that have been traditionally used to help manage pain associated with various conditions, including osteoporosis and sciatica.
Capsicum oil is derived from cayenne peppers, which contain a compound called capsaicin.
Capsaicin is known for its ability to provide a sensation of heat when applied to the skin, and it has been used in topical creams and oils to help manage pain.
Capsaicin is believed to work by blocking the transmission of pain signals from the nerves to the brain. It does this by depleting a neurotransmitter called substance P that is involved in transmitting pain signals.
When applied topically, capsaicin can create a warming sensation that may help alleviate pain in the affected area.
Some studies suggest that capsaicin-based creams or oils may provide relief from musculoskeletal pain, including pain associated with osteoporosis and sciatica.
Capsaicin can cause a burning or stinging sensation when first applied, which may be uncomfortable for some individuals.Long-term or excessive use of capsaicin products may lead to skin irritation.
Individual responses to capsaicin vary, and some people may not experience significant pain relief.
Comfrey is a plant that has been traditionally used for its potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Comfrey contains compounds called allantoin and rosmarinic acid, which are believed to contribute to its therapeutic effects.
Allantoin is thought to have wound-healing and anti-inflammatory properties, which could potentially provide relief from pain and inflammation associated with conditions like osteoporosis and sciatica.
Rosmarinic acid is an antioxidant that may help reduce inflammation and provide mild pain relief when applied topically.

Hi I am Sandra O’Connell, Naturopath, Herbalist, Aromatherapist and an Iridologist originally from Australia and married an Irish Man who led me to Ireland, which I now call home. I make herbal balms and creams from foraged plants and some that are sourced from local growers and are infused with the herbs. All are hand made and hand poured with organic, or natural herbs and essential oils, with no added nasty preservatives. I also hand make and sew wheat bags and eye pillows. My making of the wheat bags and eye pillow started when a very good friend of mine got diagnosed with Cancer. She was in a lot of pain and I said for her to use my wheat bag, as I have had mine for almost 15 years. She fell in love with it, not only did it help ease the pain, however, it also helped her sleep better, due to the smell of the lavender. I searched high and low in Ireland for a wheat bag, however, I only found one when I was back in Australia on holidays, and brought one home. I wanted to help more people benefit from them, as I have used mine for years, for period pain and back pain. Hence my sewing career began, and I started to make the wheat bags along with the eyepillows. They are made from natural lavender, some of the lavender we grow and also contain organic wheat. Lavender is an incredible herb that is great to help unwind the mind. It has been also reported to help lower cortisol levels, helps with anxiety, stress, migraines and sinus. Lavender improves the symptoms of sinus congestion, by reducing the pain and swelling.
All Raw Botanical products are handmade in Co Limerick by Sandra O'Connell using 100% organic ingredients. Raw Botanical products do not contain Synthetic fragrance, palm oil, or harmful chemicals. Sustainable packaging is used. Our products are not tested on animals and are cruelty free.
Individual responses to the balms may vary, so it's always a good idea to perform a patch test before applying any new product to a larger area of the skin.
Along with my balms I make a range of room mists, herbal formulations and flower essence drops.
