The Nicot Cupkit Complete Queen Rearing System is a comprehensive kit that simplifies the process of rearing queens without requiring grafting. The kit includes a plastic comb box, 110 brown cell cups, 10 cell bar cups, 10 cell bar blocks, and 10 roller queen cages, as well as an instruction manual.
To use the kit, the brown cell cups are placed at the back of the comb box, while the queen is placed in the front under a removable cover that acts as a queen excluder. The queen can only lay eggs into the cell cups, which are attended to by worker bees. Newly hatched larvae can be seen through the transparent back and cups, each in a tiny dot of royal jelly.
The harvested eggs should be no more than a few hours old, but it is recommended that they are not more than one day old. They can be carefully removed and plugged into the cell bar cups. Once the queen cells are drawn and sealed, the roller cages are fitted around them to cage the emerging virgin queens. These cages can be used for travelling and introduction.
Overall, the Nicot Cupkit Complete Queen Rearing System simplifies the process of rearing queens, making it an accessible and efficient process for beekeepers.
