My number 1 BESTSELLING product year after year A very popular saying, especially in Ireland. A beautiful sentiment for anyone who has experienced a recent loss. It has been my bestselling product for years and years. It is intended for indoor use only.
In my own family, my children have always believed that when a robin pops up next to us on walk or picnics it is in fact our beloved dog Charlie, visiting us from heaven in the form of a robin , to once again join us on our outdoor adventures as he had always done . And when my own Dad, their Grandad passed suddenly in Jan 2020, I too noticed a ‘big’ robin that seemed to hang around my kitchen door and back garden very regularly, daily almost. the thing is my Dad had done a lot of work in our back garden so I cant help but smile whenever I this robin.
It gives us all a sense of comfort and provides regular opportunities for us to talk about our grief and loss.
These are by far a very popular Christmas stocking filler gift for friends and family near and far, however, as loss is experienced all of the time, these little robins sell all year around for me.
There is an option to personalise this piece by adding a name EG. the personalised piece would read as follows ‘ A Robin appears when ‘insert name’ is near’
The Process: I make these by cutting heart shapes from rolled out wet clay. Then I load up a stamp and using ink I press this into the damp clay. After a few minutes I bring in some fresh conifer/evergreen clippings from my garden and carefully press these into the clay taking care not to disturb the text I’ve stamped. i have a tiny bird shaped cutter that I then use to make the bird cutout.
Then I need to be patient as each piece takes 2-4 days to thoroughly dry out. After this part of the process I can sand out any imperfections and round out the edges off. I also get to use a fine sandpaper to tidy up any ink bleeds and smooth the surface.. Finally I give it a light matt varnish before attaching natural jute string and a piece of ribbon or you can choose to have it hung on a length of festive ribbon (no string)

Ordered a few bits and received them, I had a query on my order and I sent seller a direct message. She came back quickly and was very helpful. Bits are lovely and I am a repeat customer and will be back again. Cant wait to give them as christmas presents.

I make each item from scratch and as such, there is a lot of time involved in each piece. Once the order is placed I generally get to work on them within 12 hours so cancellations are not always possible. I will not accept exchanges or returns on personalised items as I cannot re sell. However, in the case where your order might arrive broken I will make and send a replacement ASAP or if you prefer I will issue a full refund.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a busy Mam of two living in the beautiful Hill of Down, Co Meath next to the Royal Canal Greenway. I’m a native of Edenderry, Offaly. In my former career I had an undergraduate degree in Social studies and was studying for a degree in forensic psychology. Most of my career I spent managing a youth justice project supporting vulnerable teenagers. However all of that changed when I took a career break to spend time with my young children. My outlook completely changed and my priorities did too. I have always been a creative soul and find pure joy in making with my own hands. So with huge family support I established my own little business – The Clay Conifer and have never been happier. My goal is to be Irelands ‘go to’ small business to shop for the highest quality handmade clay gifts for all occasions.
