I think all Irish hardwoods are all beautiful and this Burr Oak just reinforces my opinion, even with the holes left by bark inclusions falling out. This has been turned wet to a finish. The piece then dries over a few days and distorts wonderfully. The result is a unique combination of the ruggedness of the burr, the distortion of the shape, and contrast of textures. A naturally occurring crack has been made into a feature by tying with a leather cord.
