TURQUOISE GEMMOLOGY FACTS:
Turquoise is a Phosphate Mineral that can only be found in limited places across the world. These stunning Gemstones form in dry and infertile regions where acidic, copper-rich water seeps down into the ground and reacts with Minerals containing aluminium and phosphorus. This sedimentary process results in porous, semi-translucent to opaque compounds of aluminium phosphate and hydrated copper. Its bright blue colour comes from copper, whilst the deep green shades come from chrome and iron.
You will often find Turquoise with a spider’s web-like pattern. These usually dark veins are evidence of the matrix known as the host rock, and can darken overtime.
It is said to be a Gemstone of protection, the colour is femininity, and is said to give calmness and emotional balance. Often used with the Third Eye Chakra.

Welcome to Julie G Silver Studio - My studio in Wexford gives me the chance to let out my creative side designing and creating OOAK little gems to treasure…
Gemstones have always fascinated me, they are a wonder of nature, giving us a beautiful glance at what the earth can create. Each piece of jewellery made from gemstones has a story behind it, having great cultural significance and appeal beyond not only its aesthetic beauty. My jewellery is not just a fashion statement but a symphony connecting Earths beauty to the wearer or owner of each piece.
All my gemstones are ethically sourced and certified when I purchase from a professional Gemologist of over 20 years.
All are finished using 925 Sterling Silver, Freshwater Pearls, various precious/semi-precious stones, crystals and high end quality beads.
